EDS’ management has over 30 years of experience in most if not all drilling methods.
EDS’ maintenance personnel have qualifications in the following areas:
- Engine rebuilding and maintenance

- Compressor rebuilding, maintenance, and servicing, plus troubleshooting
- Maintenance manager has a drilling background
- Specialized mechanical background in light vehicles, heavy duty trucks, and heavy-duty equipment
With over 30 years’ experience in many sectors of the drilling industry, EDS has experience as the client and as the service provider. Management has experience with Rio Tinto (second largest mining Company in today’s market) as the drilling manager, 15 years across West Africa, drilling consultant in Brazil, drilling manager in Indonesia, and started drilling career in Australia.
The Rio Tinto experience, from a client point of view, set out systems and requirements that need to be successful. A service provider must understand the client’s needs, provide a very professional service to all clients, and have the experience to back up the service that they provide.
EDS has that experience and provides its personnel and equipment
EDS designs its own PQ and HQ face discharge coring bits, to maximise core recovery, water way design and face discharge design to minimise core wash and maximise penetration, internal water wats of 4mm and outer water ways of 8mm, face discharge of 6mm.
These measurements are set for HQ and PQ at 6mm internal and 10mm outer, with a 7mm face discharge.
Air-core utilises two, three and four blade air-core bits, with a NQ design thread and a trumpet inner-tube. The design is set-up as a vacuum bit while the trumpet inner-tube is set as close to the bit face as possible to maximise recovery in softer formation.
Standard design reverse circulation rods maximise delivery from suppliers eliminating delays from tooling replacement.
